Kodai No Bushido Dojo
Youth Jujitsu

The youth classes teach coordination, self-confidence, and responsible social attitudes. The goal of the class is to help each student learn new and unique physical skills in an environment where they are expected to be cooperative and helpful to the instructor and each other.

The techniques and games taught in the classes include rolling and falling, escapes from holds and grips, basic blocks, and simple throws. The throws reinforce correct falling practices and encourage a high degree of trust and sharing between students. They are also the most fun. The jujitsu etiquette and protocols also expose the students to many aspects of the ancient and unique Japanese culture.

Through the practice of techniques and games, your child will learn:

  1. rolling and falling

  2. escapes from holds and grips

  3. basic blocks

  4. basic throws

Demonstrations and/or tournaments will be held on Saturday mornings once every three months, attendance is optional.
