Sharon and Jaya's Irish Session (Seisiún)

Fourth Saturday of the Month

4 PM to no later than 10 PM

Irish slow session for beginning and intermediate players who enjoy playing music in a fun, non-judgemental and supportive environment.

All instruments are welcome (not restricted to "traditional" Irish instruments)
All abilities are welcome (if you can play a tune by yourself you can play with us)
Must be willing to play slowly
OK to read the music (don't have to memerize songs you don't know)
Follow session etiquette i.e., basic social manners

Please park in an open space that is not covered. The covered/numbered spaces are reserved for residents.

The Music

The SlowPlayers Music List has much of the music that we may play during a session. In addition to the names of the tunes most include the music and a MIDI of the turn without ornamentation.

The Food

The session always includes food. Everyone brings something to eat or drink. If you're a beer or wine drinker you better bring some, the hosts only provide soft drinks and water.

What to bring? Snacks, sweets, main dish, desert, salad, et cetera.

Players snack through out the session. At some point the group becomes hungry and tired and then the instruments are put aside and we all stand around eating and talking for a bit.
